Free GCSE & A-Level Past Papers with Mark Schemes

Go straight to the exam board - always the most up-to-date papers

The most effective way to prepare for GCSE and A-Level exams is to practise on real past papers from your exact exam board - AQA, Edexcel, OCR or WJEC. Each board has its own question style, mark scheme language, and grade boundaries. Our tutors always recommend downloading at least five years of past papers and working through them under timed, exam conditions. Mark schemes are just as important as the papers themselves: they show you the exact phrases and structures that earn marks.

Maths Practice Sites

The sites our Maths tutors actually recommend to students

Maths is one of the few GCSE subjects where consistent daily practice genuinely closes the gap between grades. The platforms below adapt to your child's current level and identify gaps in understanding before they become problems in the exam. Our tutors use Corbettmaths and Dr Frost Maths regularly to assign targeted homework between sessions.

🔬

Sciences

Biology, Chemistry and Physics - GCSE and A-Level

Science at GCSE and A-Level is heavy on content - students need to know definitions, equations, required practicals, and how to apply them under exam conditions. The resources below cover all three sciences across AQA, Edexcel and OCR. Free Science Lessons and Save My Exams are particularly effective for students who prefer video explanations alongside written notes.

✍️

English Language & Literature

Reading, writing and analysis - from KS3 through A-Level

English rewards technique and vocabulary above memorisation. Students need to practise analysing unseen texts, structuring language essays, and writing about literary devices with precision. The resources below provide structured practice for both English Language and Literature, with mark-scheme guidance built in.

💻

Coding & Computer Science

Learn to code - from beginner to GCSE Computer Science

Computer Science GCSE requires both theoretical knowledge (algorithms, data structures, networks) and practical programming ability. The platforms below cover both - use the exam board resources for past paper practice and Scratch or W3Schools for programming skills between papers.

🌐

General Revision Platforms

All-subject tools useful at every stage of revision

These platforms bring together revision materials across subjects and exam boards in one place - useful for students juggling multiple GCSEs or A-Levels at once. BBC Bitesize is free and curriculum-aligned; Khan Academy is the best free resource for maths and science at every level.

🎒

KS2 SATs - Primary (Year 6)

Free practice papers and resources for the Year 6 national tests in Maths, Reading and SPAG

KS2 SATs cover Reading, Grammar Punctuation & Spelling, and Maths. Official past papers from the Department for Education are the gold standard for practice. Aim to complete papers from the last three years under timed conditions in the weeks before the May exams.

🏫

11 Plus (11+) - Selective School Entrance

Free practice papers for grammar school and independent school entry exams

The 11 Plus varies significantly by region - some schools use CEM papers, others use GL Assessment, and many set their own tests. Start preparation at least 12 months before the exam. Our 11 Plus tutors can advise on the exact format used by your target school and build a personalised practice plan.

📗

KS3 Resources (Year 7–9)

Bridging the gap between primary and GCSE - building strong foundations

KS3 (Years 7–9) is often overlooked as a revision stage, but strong foundations here directly predict GCSE performance. These resources are especially useful for diaspora families whose children have recently moved into the British secondary curriculum from the Nigerian or US system.

🇳🇬

WAEC Past Questions & JAMB Past Papers - Nigerian Curriculum

Past questions and practice for WAEC, NECO, JAMB CBT and Nigerian secondary school students

WAEC and NECO past questions are essential preparation for the Senior School Certificate Examination. Nigerian exam boards consistently re-use question patterns across years, so practising past questions from the last five years gives you a significant advantage. For JAMB UTME, the CBT format means you must also practise speed - timed mock tests on Myschool.ng simulate the actual exam environment. Our tutors who specialise in Nigerian curriculum recommend starting past question practice at least six months before your sitting date.

🌍

IGCSE & Cambridge International

Past papers and resources for Cambridge IGCSE, AS & A Level international qualifications

Cambridge IGCSE is taken by students in international schools worldwide and is widely accepted by UK, US and Nigerian universities. Papers are available directly from Cambridge Assessment International Education. Our tutors who work with IGCSE students recommend completing past papers from the last four sessions for each subject.

🇺🇸

Free SAT Practice Tests & ACT Preparation Resources

Free official practice materials for the digital SAT and ACT

The SAT moved to a fully digital adaptive format in 2024, which means older paper-based prep materials are now largely obsolete. Use only College Board’s official practice tests and Khan Academy’s free personalised SAT prep (linked directly to your College Board score report) for the most accurate preparation. The ACT remains paper-based and has a different structure - stronger in Science reasoning - so students should practise both before deciding which to submit to universities.

🗺️

History & Geography

GCSE and A-Level revision for both subjects - often underserved by revision sites

History and Geography are essay-heavy subjects where success depends on knowing your content deeply and structuring arguments clearly. History students must know their specific modules inside out (content varies widely by exam board). Geography students need to balance human and physical geography revision, including real case studies. Past mark schemes are essential reading for both subjects.

🗣️

Language Learning & GCSE Languages

For GCSE French, Spanish, German and general language practice alongside Masy language classes

Language GCSEs test four skills: listening, reading, writing, and speaking - with speaking worth 25% of the grade and often the least practised. The resources below support vocabulary building and past paper listening and reading practice. Students studying heritage languages such as Yoruba, Igbo or Hausa can pair these with our specialist language tutoring sessions.
